3 MUST-WATCH OLYMPIC EVENTS

It's gonna be a great Olympic summer! Here are the top
3 'must see' events. ~ cece

THE EVENT: Phelps vs. Lochte in the Men's 400m Individual Medley
WATCH IT: July 28 at 2:30 p.m. ET*
THE BUZZ: In the first of four (likely) head-to-head swims, Michael Phelps -- arguably the greatest swimmer in Olympic history -- takes on teammate and rival Ryan Lochte, who is considered the new face of American men's swimming. So who will prevail in London? It's anyone's guess. Lochte edged Phelps in this event during Olympic trials last month before losing to Phelps in their next three qualifying contests.

THE EVENT: Women's Gymnastics Team Final
WATCH IT: July 31 at 11:30 a.m. ET*
THE BUZZ: These petite powerhouses are always fun to watch, and this U.S. team should be the strongest in two decades. Anything but a gold medal would be disappointing. Keep an eye on America's two brightest 16-year-old stars, Gabby Douglas and Jordyn Wieber. Either could also take home individual all-around gold.

THE EVENT: Usain Bolt Sprints for Another Gold in the 100m
WATCH IT: August 5 at 4:50 p.m. ET*
THE BUZZ: Jamaican Usain Bolt torched the world and Olympic records and humiliated his competitors en route to his gold medal win at the 2008 games. Three years after beating his own record with a time of just 9.58 seconds at the 2009 World Championships, everyone's wondering if Bolt can strike again (and break the 9.50 barrier) in London.

Rendezvous with the Zoo!

Greetings friends and neighbors!

There are so many great things about living in Memphis. A vibrant downtown with it's own trolley system to help you get around in style while you take in all the fun and history, The best BBQ on planet Earth, as well as other fantastic foods representing the whole world served up with a distinct southern flair, world class museums, fantastic nightlife, the distinction of being the birthplace of rock and roll and home of the blues, major league basketball at  FedEx Forum, and Redbirds baseball at Autozone Park, the finest medical facilities, hotels, and live entertainment, not to mention the unique character and ambience of this wonderful city we call home. It's no wonder every year people from all over the planet make Memphis one of their top once in a lifetime destinations. All that said, there is one thing about our city that truly stands out as something to really be proud of, and that's our Zoo! If you've spent any time with your family at the Memphis Zoo, you know that there is nothing anywhere like it. Amanda and I have been Zoo members for years, and our kids have spent countless hours watching, playing, and learning there. It truly is the best family time you can spend with your children. The recent Dinosaur exhibit was awesome! The great thing is that by having a Zoo membership, not only do you support the most wonderful thing in Memphis, but you get fantastic perks like free parking and unlimited admission for a whole year, access to special parties like Member's night, where you can cool off from the summer heat and check out the evening sea lion show at 7pm, get free childrens rides, entertainment in the courtyard, and check out the Birds and the Bees exhibit til 7pm. There's plenty of time to get your membership before the next Member's night September 2nd 6-9pm!   But The Zoo is SO much more. Grown-ups can have as much fun as the kids with great events like Macy's Zoo Brew,  August 31st, where you can sample beers from all over the world and enjoy live music and great food. Friends, I'm not prone to exaggeration, so take me seriously when I say that the most awesome party in Memphis takes place at the Memphis Zoo, and it's coming up September 8th from 7-10:30pm. It's called the Zoo Rendezvous, and I've never seen ANYTHING like it! 4 live bands, delicious food from over 90 restaurants and bars, great libations and dancing under the stars with the wildest creatures in town! It's the best way to support the best thing Memphis has and have a blast doing it! You can find out more about this years ZOO RENDEZVOUS and get your tickets here.  http://www.memphiszoo.org/zoorendezvous . I promise it'll be a party you'll remember all your life. I hope to see you there! Until then, enjoy the best of Memphis at The Zoo!

Bill :-)
